Unfortunately, JFC leadership scheduled each public hearing in the middle of a workday, which will make it difficult for a large portion of our state’s population to travel to and attend a hearing to testify about the Budget, which has deep impacts on our lives and livelihoods. The Joint Finance Committee has created a website and email address to communicate with JFC members.

The 2025-2027 Wisconsin State Budget impacts our rights, wages, working places, and communities. The Budget Bill will be one of the most important bills debated by the legislature this year. The Joint Finance Committee has the power to make changes or eliminate items in Governor Evers’ proposed budget. These public hearings are designed so citizens can provide essential input on the Budget before the JFC convenes to take votes on all aspects of the Budget.

We encourage union brothers and sisters to attend local hearings to make their views heard as we fight for good jobs, strong unions, and economic opportunity for all.

We strongly support Governor Evers’ proposed Biennial Budget which prioritizes economic opportunity and prosperity for Wisconsin working families. Included in Governor Evers’ Budget are initiatives to support hardworking men and women across Wisconsin, grow jobs with needed infrastructure upgrades and repairs, invest in public education, lower healthcare costs, and remove lead pipes from our schools, homes and childcare centers, all while supporting union workers across our state. Pro-worker proposals like repealing Right to Work, reinstating prevailing wage and project labor agreements, allowing for tax deductions for union dues, supporting collective bargaining rights for public sector workers and more is all included in Governor Evers initial Budget.

Let’s make our voices heard in support of these and other pro-worker items in the Budget at an upcoming JFC hearing.
