Judge Chris Taylor for Wisconsin Supreme Court

Today, the Wisconsin AFL-CIO announces our endorsement of Judge Chris Taylor for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. The Wisconsin AFL-CIO is the largest federation of labor unions in Wisconsin fighting on behalf of all working people in our state.
“Judge Chris Taylor has spent her career protecting the rights and freedoms of every Wisconsinite. As a judge, public servant, and attorney, she has shown her commitment to working families and we are proud to endorse her for the Wisconsin Supreme Court,” said Wisconsin AFL-CIO President Stephanie Bloomingdale. “We need justices on the state Supreme Court who believe in following the law and upholding the Constitution in a fair and impartial manner. On the bench, Judge Taylor has a well-earned reputation for making sure everyone is heard fairly – that’s exactly what we need in our next Supreme Court justice.”
“Her likely opponent, Judge Maria Lazar, has a troubling record of putting her own partisan agenda first,” continued Wisconsin AFL-CIO President Bloomingdale. “As Scott Walker’s attorney, Judge Lazar defended extreme policies that attacked the rights of working Wisconsinites.”
“I’m honored to have the support of the Wisconsin AFL-CIO in this race,” said Judge Chris Taylor. “Every working family deserves to have their rights and freedoms protected. That’s exactly why we need to reinforce a majority on the Court who believes in putting the law and our Constitution first, not a partisan political agenda.”
Judge Chris Taylor has a three-decade legal career, as an attorney, public servant, and now as a judge. After being appointed by Governor Tony Evers to the circuit court in 2020 and subsequently being elected to a full term on the court, she ran successfully for the Wisconsin Court of Appeals in 2023 where she works with her colleagues to hear cases across 24 counties.
