A Historic Victory

Congratulations to Judge Susan Crawford on her victory.
Congratulations are also in order for the men and women of the Wisconsin labor movement, whose dedication and effort contributed significantly to this historic success. Wisconsin's workers were not swayed by Elon Musk and his big-dollar buffoonery. On Election Day, we came together to send a message that is resonating across the nation: our vote and our democracy are not for sale.
Judge Crawford’s commitment to sound judicial review and adherence to the Constitution makes her victory a win for all Wisconsinites. We look forward to the role she will play to ensure that our state's highest court remains the guardian of fairness under the law for all.
In the face of unprecedented and unconstitutional attempts to seize control of our democratic institutions, we’re showing would-be oligarchs and autocrats that government of the people, by the people and for the people is alive and well in Wisconsin. We are proud to stand together against attacks on our unions, our jobs, and the working class.
In addition to Judge Susan Crawford’s victory, we are proud to offer congratulations to Dr. Jill Underly on her re-election as state Superintendent of Public Instruction and to all our Wisconsin AFL-CIO endorsed candidates who won election last night.
And a huge thank you to all our union member volunteers who made our 2025 Spring Election voter education and mobilization campaign a success. Elections have consequences and this one was particularly important. Your hard work writing hand-written postcards to fellow union members, reaching out and talking with union members on their front porches, on the phone, over text message and at the workplace, grocery store and the corner bar made the difference in getting that message out.
Last night’s victory demonstrated that our democracy is not for sale and underscores the importance of member-to-member organizing as we preserve and expand the rights of working people in Wisconsin.
Onward in solidarity,
Stephanie Bloomingdale, President
