Wisconsin AFL-CIO President Stephanie Bloomingdale released the following statement on January 22, 2025 on Governor Evers’ 2025 State of the State Address:

"Governor Evers declared 2024 to be the Year of the Worker and thanks to his leadership and his administration’s focus on workforce development, training and skills education, and infrastructure improvements, Wisconsin is enjoying historically low unemployment, record breaking apprenticeship levels, outstanding fiscal health, and good job growth across the state.

In tonight’s State of the State Address, Governor Evers put forth concrete plans for improving our state for working people by lowering costs, making strategic investments in education, mental health, affordable childcare and our state’s infrastructure so we can continue to create a pro-worker economy with strong unions, economic growth, and family-sustaining jobs for all.

The commonsense proposals outlined tonight in Governor Evers’ seventh State of the State Address will support our workforce and promote a strong middle class. In 2025, we call on lawmakers to find bipartisan common ground that focuses on advancing strong, healthy, and prosperous communities across Wisconsin."
