Raise your voice for a budget that supports workers
Governor Evers put forth a comprehensive 2021-23 Budget grounded in Wisconsin values that supports working people through the pandemic, makes key investments in infrastructure and workforce training, and lays the foundation for a more prosperous Wisconsin for all.
Included in Evers’ 2021-23 Budget Bill is the restoration of basic protections that are the right of anyone who works for a living including repealing Wisconsin’s so-called Right to Work law, restoring collective bargaining rights for public employee frontline workers, reinstating prevailing wage laws, and eliminating the prohibition on Project Labor Agreements. The budget also calls for expanding healthcare access, bolstering Wisconsin’s Family and Medical Leave Act, building retirement security for workers, and modernizing Wisconsin’s unemployment system. These are pro-worker policies to grow our economy with good jobs and economic opportunity for all.
The budget now heads to the powerful Joint Finance Committee which will hold a series of public hearings for Wisconsinites to share our thoughts on the budget. Attend a JFC hearing below in support of a pro-worker budget. The Joint Finance Committee will then take individual votes on budget proposals, insert its own budget proposals, and send an amended budget bill to the state legislature.
