Workers United Local 122 was first chartered on December 19, 1931 as the Hotel Motel Restaurant Employees and Bartenders.

On May 1, 1988 the name changed to the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union.

In 2007, Local 122 affiliated with the Chicago Midwest Regional Joint Board, Workers United (CMRJB) to become a larger and more connected membership.

No matter their name, Local 122 has a long history of working hard to make members happy with their negotiated wages and benefits. It’s extremely important to the union that members are able to provide for their families. It’s an overwhelming peace of mind to know there is security in a union who will continue fighting for their best interests.

Check back on Wednesday for more on the members of Workers United 122.
