Volunteer Opportunity! Dec 15, Afternoon

30 to 40 Milwaukee Public Schools will be having classrooms of grades K3-3rdgrade participate in a volunteer activity associated with United Way’s Show You Care, Share children’s book. Students will read the book, discuss the concepts and then participate in their own ‘sharing and caring’ activity by making handmade birthday, get well and encouragement cards to be distributed through senior centers, agency partners, shelters, food pantries as well as meal placemats for holiday meal programs. We are anticipating between 6,000-7,500 pieces that will be distributed back into the community.

Needed: Delivery Help – Volunteers to pick up the completed materials from each school and bring back to UW for sorting and preparation for delivery to partners.

When: Afternoon of Thursday, 12/15

Where: 30-40 MPS schools, locations being confirmed on 12/6
