On Tuesday, March 21st, around 11:41 am, Karlee, an IBEW Local 2150, working as a Flagger for WE Energies, was struck by a man in a truck, who took off after the accident. Karlee was sent to the hospital through Flight for Life.

She has suffered “significant but non-life-threatening injuries,” including broken bones and damage to her teeth. She will have a long recovery ahead of her.

Her cousin has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for medical bills, rehabilitation and living expenses. Here is that page: https://gofund.me/8936326d

The Milwaukee Area Labor Council is also helping to raise funds for Sister Karlee through our Labor Relief Fund, part of Labor Community @ Work, a 501c3 organization.

If you would like to make a donation to help Karlee, please send a check to “Labor Community @ Work,” with “Karlee” or “IBEW 2150” in the memo line. All donations will be forwarded to Karlee. For privacy reasons, we are not using her last name, although it has been in the paper.

Feel free to contact Jay Reinke at jay@milwaukeelabor.org or 414 771 7070, x16. with any questions.
